"I get to go to my soccow team!" he'd say with eyes sparkling to anyone who would listen, and spent hours walking around the house in his soccow unifowm.
He usually starts off his games all business. Must. Kick. The. Ball.

He soon realizes what a great opportunity this is to run freely across a grassy field with friends, forgetting about the ball completely.

And who cares if the ball was within reach and a straight shot to the goal? Theatric stunt-rolls are much more fun and must be done every time he sees another child on the team fall. It's all part of the game, after all, and he does it with gusto.

Snack time was a highlight, too. The kids come in from all that running around and eat like champs.

The food is always really good, even if someone has to check the 'gwedients' first to make sure he's not eating anything with the dreaded, hive-inducing coconut in it. Apples are a safe bet.

But as teachers the world over well know, once the kids come back from snack time they seem to experience a bit of a slump in their attention span.
Those new cleats they got to wear for the first time that morning become overly fascinating pieces of apparel.

And checking to make sure the all important "spiked up haiow" is still standing consumes copius amounts of time and attention. The rest of the team has a pretty good handle on the game, after all.

And if you get a little tired, all you have to do is kick back on the grass and watch the clouds float by.

Or sit down and chat with friends.

And if you get bored, there are always plenty of colorful flags to pull up and play with.

If you're really lucky, you might even get into a friendly spat with the opposing team-mates.

That maybe aren't as friendly as first thought. And this is the moment when soccer breaks down and becomes rugby.

But suddenly, the game is over and though his team didn't win, it's great fun chasing his friend through the tunnel.

Yes, being part of a soccow team is gweat fun!

TOO CUTE FOR WORDS!!! I think all soccer moms vaguely recognize all the phases of the game for the newest and youngest soccer players. But you nailed it.
This post was so cute!
Oh man, he is such an adorable little guy--that last photo was just too cute!!!
Jami
Oh. My. Goodness. Too. Too. Adorable!!!!
Ha Ha Soccer.. Judah style.
I usually don't get little kids playing sports (I grew up in a house of girls), but that's soooo cute!
Ah yes, those halcyon days of soccer. I remember them well. I do have to echo that soccer had some of the healthiest snacks of any of the sports my kids participated in.
Baseball? The worst.
Love it! Go Judah Go!
and this is where soccer becomes rugby
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH
LOVE YOUR KID. LOVE.
Shoot, Becky! I should've went to college with you! I don't remember ANY truck driving around throwing out free food where I went. The cinnamon/sugar treat sounds totally addicting to me. Might be best if I didn't try it, ya know? I've never heard of the brewer's yeast trick. When you try it, please, let me know what you think. Anything to add more nutrients to the diet would be great.
And here I thought my son was strange, all those years ago, because he played everything BUT soccer when he had a game. I see it's just a boy thing. Great fauxhawk, by the way. :)
LOL!! What a cute little guy!
