It's Going To Be A Loooooong Night...

My husband and I are going to be up all night long.

Our Youth Group at church is having our annual Rock-A-Thon fundraiser/lock-in thing from 8 pm this evening until 8 am tomorrow morning.

We will be locked in our church fellowship hall with a bunch of teenagers and our own two boys, playing games, watching movies, having game system tournaments and eating junk food...all while keeping rocking chairs and porch swings rocking the entire 12 hours.

To raise money for an Orphanage in the Ukraine.

Lots of rowdy teens.

All. night. long.

Pray for us.

ohhh! Yes, I will be praying for you. lol!

I just did a lock-in with 10-13 year olds. After we finished cleaning up after a rowdy night, I told myself that I was done for another yaer... or decade. =)

Have fun!

You are brave.

Are you listening to rock Music that tells you to trust in the the Rock of our Salvation while you sit in a chair as hard as a rock to rock around the clock?

Oh Honey! You win!! I was whining about having four 13-year-old girls sleeping over. Thank you for putting it in perspective for me.

Great thing you guys are doing, though! I will remember you in my prayers tonight.

Sounds like a typical Friday night at our house when YOU were a teenager!

And people ask how I get MYself into situations! From now on my standard response will be, "ME?? What about Becky!? She has to make things rock all night long!"

You can do it!!!! And here I was feeling badly for Big and me because History Boy has "Five Bucks of Fun" at church until 11 tonight and one of us has to go pick him up. ;)

Blessings on your night (and for rest the rest of the weekend).

Deb - lol, I'm glad it's only an annual event.

Tanya - Thanks. And Yes, yes, yes and yes! That sounds like a promo statement for next years Rock-A-Thon!

Jenster - Thanks for the prayers. Believe me, we needed them!

HisGirl - lol, thanks for prayin!

CecilyR - It was fun...in a sugar-high, slap-happy, rowdy-teens kind of way. ;0)

FrumpGram - Are you sure you weren't referring to Jami's friends? Mine were perfect angels...most of the time.

Sing4Joy - Let me tell you, keeping things rocking was pretty hard about three in the morning. We had to prod them along from that point on.

Gretchen - That sounds like an interesting idea your son's youth group did...we're always looking for new ones, but the kids wouldn't let us 'phase' this one out, because the younger sibs of kids from years past so looked forward to this one.

Jenster - Yes, I WAS sleeping at 11, lol!

No, Becky, it was YOUR friends. They WERE nearly perfect angels. Who slept very little during the night. I'm still trying to catch up. Oh, but it was fun anyway!

I agree, you are brave. lol Sounds like fun though.
You are so right about the virus' being passed on. I completely believe she picked it up by my husband putting her in the basket at walmart. I am a germ freak and I usually keep her in the stroller. When I think of all the people that have touched that buggy and where there hands have been...YUCK!

What a great cause, and its sort of ironic how you are raising money-helping kids by tending kids.

DH and I once chaperoned a homecoming dance at the high school. That was an eye opening experience for sure. Have fun...and good luck!
