Every few days, he has a streak of 'incidents' that give reason to believe in such a concept.
Like the chocolate pudding incident.
And the one involing diaper ointment used to spike up his hair like gel.
Then there was the whole cricket thing.
He was helping daddy when he found a cricket in our garage.
Daddy thought it would be really funny to tell him to go inside and show it to mommy.
Who nearly broke her ankle in her haste to get up and away from her computer chair when he thrust it in her face with an innocent little, "Look, mama...cwicked!" and she looked down and saw it's antennae moving and freaked out (and that was before it temporarily got loose in the living room...)
But perhaps the worst incident to date has involved this rather innocuous looking little toy.
A rare breed where toys are concerned. In fact, this particular breed hasn't been on the market for years, and is much coveted among the toddler boys in our life.
Ahhh, the love of a boy for his dog.
He wants to hold the puppy.
Squeeze the puppy.
Have mommy wrap the puppy up in his 'bwankie' so he can cuddle the puppy.
He's even been known to fall asleep with that puppy in his arms.
While this kind of puppy is very low maintenance rather ideal pet as far as pets go--there is a slight problem...
he stole this puppy from the church nursery!
As you can see, he shows absolutely no remorse whatsoever for his actions.
Oh, boy, do we have our work cut out for us with this one!
And just so you know... the puppy, the plastic set of teething keys, the matchbox car, the Miss Piggy happy meal toy and the toy construction helmet he has stolen over the past few weeks were all returned to the church nursery last evening.
Sunday morning, he'll no doubt have a gleeful reunion with the puppy. Or more accurately, try to wrest it away from one of the other toddlers in the nursery and once again sneak it out to the car so he can have it all to himself.
It still amazes me that he managed to get that thing (and the rest) all the way home without detection!
We're really going to have to keep a close eye on this kid from now on.

Becky - you have the best way of telling a story!! This was so cute - the stolen church puppy! And such adorable pictures. They are full of mischief, aren't they? Take care.
I was so going to tell you that the puppy looks a lot like one from our church's nursery! That is too funny.
If nothing else, he's learning how to be a good pet owner and the pictures of him with the puppy are adorable.
Too cute! Maybe you could look on Ebay and find him one just like it! He looks as if he might not want to part with it!!!
My son did the exact same thing last Sunday except that it was a Burger King toy. I didn't feel like wrestling it away from him so I just willingly let him steal it!! HAAHHAA (we'll take it back if I can find it!)
PS...the terrible 3's are even better!!!! ;p
PSS...No, I'm not sure that Jody is a Christian and I have been regretting the fact that I haven't witnessed to him. As of this evening he looks to be making some small improvements as far as his vitals go...so hopefully I'll still get the chance to tell him how wonderful living for God is! (He is still not out of the woods yet though so keep up the praying! Thanks!!!)How is baby Claire?
Be afraid...be very afraid. :) Of course he's so cute I've told you before I don't know how you are able to discipline him at all.
It's that twinkle in his little eyes that you can hardly get past when they are up to mischief! I can't tell you how many times that little twinkle saved the day for my little guys. I figured the twinkle was a sign of honest innocence. There came a time, though, that you knew that THEY knew the twinkle was working!!
Terrible two year olds are very serious businessmen and women. They've got a job to do, and they are bound and determined to get it done. They don't appreciate being disciplined for doing a good job. They don't appreciate the interruptions just as they are on a roll. They wonder what in the world you're thinking, keeping them from their work like that. don't you just love them? They are such a crack up!
My! What a cute smuggler you have there, Becky! :o)
