It was bound to happen sooner or later, especially since the kid is almost as tall as me now...but Jericho started the 7th grade today. **sniffs**
Not sure what little brother was doing in this photo, but I do know that he was none too happy to learn that big brother got to go to daddy's school and not him.
Jericho wasn't thrilled to be going back to school already. The last week of summer following our vacation went by waaay too fast for his liking.
While he may be getting tall and teenagerish, he's still happy to be at the same school where his dad teaches.
He's not, like, embarrassed or anything.
And the cool thing about this arrangement is...not only does his dad drive him back and forth each day, but he can pop by any old time he wants to say "hi".
Plus there is the 'stash' of snacks which dad keeps in his desk that they think I don't know about. (Yeah, I find those cookie and cracker wrappers in the laundry...).
Here is our annual first-day-of-school family photo.
On a side note, Jeff's mom has always joined our first day of school festivities since Jericho started Kindergarten, but wasn't able to join us this morning due to a bout with gout.
So, in an effort to keep up the tradition, I've taken the liberty of trying to photo-shop her in.
Okay...so maybe we'll just go over to her house after school to get a first-day-of-school picture with her in it. Something about this isn't quite right.

Jericho, you are growing up! You actually didn't clown around in this photo!
Spiderman (aka Judah), your day will come. And before you turn around twice, we'll be talking about you graduating from high school or college. I know how these things work! Didn't my eldest daughter just go to her TWENTY YEAR class reunion? Time does fly! I'm glad you catch all these times on camera, Becky, they will give you many happy memories to look back on!

Awwwww...sniff, sniff...I'm feeling for you over here! Next thing you know it'll be high school! I love the photo shop picture, too. You crack me up! So, what does Jeff teach? That would be really cool to go to school with your dad. I hope Jericho has a great year!

sorry for not dropping by recently. been crazy over my end. having problems with our accommodations here in japan. new HR lady in Ruther's company doesn't want us staying in his apartment here. which is really crazy! so we're still hoping things will be ok in the end so we wouldn't have to look for a separate apartment for me and the boys.
anyway, loved your family photo. your boys are growing so fast!! wish mine would slow down too... sigh...

Wow, middle school! So many memories. Praying he has a great year and wonderful memories.
we start back on the 24th and are trying to milk every bit of summer out of our calendar. this school year will be the last that my two are at the same school and i'm more than a little nervous about my girl going off to middle school after that. yep, i start my worrying off way far in advance. happy first day to jericho & jeff!
LOL, that last photo is a riot! I don't even want to start thinking about 7th grade... it seems so far away. But I know I'll blink and it'll be here. Boo hoo! At least you have Judah around to distract you from the advancing years. I'm sure he's happy to continue drawing on the couch and doing other little boy stuff. =0)
A milestone, indeed! How awesome he and your hubby are at the same school. Gotta love those snacks! You've probably already heard this, but the time will actually speed up from here on out...never did figure out how or why that happened. One day our son was graduating from 6th grade and seemingly in the blink of an eye, he was graduating from high school! It's crazy! Blessings on your family for the new school year!

Call me crazy, but Jericho seems to have grown up so much lately... His face looks so much more mature to me.
