When we left that evening, it wasn't these things that we were raving about as usual (though we enjoyed what we'd eaten very much), but rather their iced tea.
Yes, though their food is really good, it was their iced tea that stole the show for us that evening. My husband and I both agreed it was among the best flavor of iced tea we'd ever had.
I've actually dreamed about that iced tea since then.
Because I love iced tea.
Especially when the weather warms up, or I find myself thirsty for something besides water.
And green tea is good for you.
I've longed for that delicate green tea flavor ever since...iced tea with none of the bitterness usually associated with green tea, and just a hint of floral essence.
The best thing of all about this tea? No sweetener is necessary. It's got a naturally light and sweet taste to it, and compliments any type of food well.
So while I was grocery shopping the other day, I stopped by the tea section of the store, and voila! There it was!
I'm not sure if it's the exact same tea they used at The Yardhouse restaurant or not, but I tossed it in my grocery cart, and the moment I got home, set about brewing up a gallon of iced tea.
It tasted just as I remembered.
Fabulous.
My absolute favorite new beverage of choice.
I kid you not, it's that good.
The perfect compliment to any meal. Truly. This week we've had it with hamburgers, Italian, Mexican, Asian, salads, and even at breakfast, and the flavor was just right with each meal.
And David and Eunice Bigelow, if you or the marketing department at R.C. Bigelow, Inc. would like to express your thanks to me for pimping advertising your product on my blog of my own volition...out of the goodness of my heart, I'd be ever-so-happy to accept a lifetime supply of this FAB tea for myself, as well as some restaurant supply-sized gift boxes to give away to my bloggy peeps.
Thank you kindly.

I LOVE I mean absolutely LOVE iced tea. No sugar or sweetener in it for me thanks. My husband however is very southern and LOVES his sweet tea. I will have to try the tea you got. My mom got this really yummy green tea and it was amazing hot, but it is so expensive. Yours is more in my price range:) How did you brew it. Can you make sun tea with green tea?
this is very very very exciting! *grabs keys and purse and heads for the store*
my husband and i love us some seriously good iced T.
Thanks for stopping by my blog--and the kind comment!
Your roller-mask photo is hilarious! I've enjoyed reading your blog--especially the makeup artist in training. Oh my!
I like plain old Lipton brewed in boiled water and then blended with the right amount of cold water to make a gallon. I use 5 bags Lipton in 4 cups of boiled water, and throw in a couple bags of Republic of Tea's Ginger Peach for a little extra flourish. I NEVER boil the bags in water (tea is meant to be STEEPED), nor do sun tea as I can't get the same flavor out of it that way as I do steeping it for 20 minutes in boiled water. (Now, you can used MICROWAVED WATER if you like, but I like my spot of tay brewed propally, old chap, Cheerio. Use the bloody tea kettle). And IF I happen to add sugar (depends on who's drinking it), I take a cup of boiled water and add between 1/4 to 3/4 cup sugar and add to the gallon. I think 1/4 cup takes the edge off the regular tea, which, as you say is a tad bitter. There is also a wonderful new type of tea out there in the handy (but totally unBritish) teabags, and that is WHITE TEA. Very delicate. Almost too delicate for someone as crass as me. But I like it, too.
The ginger peach tea is my all time favorite tea... BUT it is over 15 dollars a container here:(
Lipton girl over here :waves hands:
Tea to me means sweetened and iced. I agree w/ frumpgram that it should be steeped, never boiled. I've been known to stand in a trance at my stove top waiting for the water to barely show the first sign of a bubble so that I can yank it off the burner immediately. I'll also let it steep for hours. I read once that it should only be steeped for 15 minutes max. Horse hockey. I have always thought it tastes better the longer it sits in the fridge!
Hmm... I don't know about GREEN tea because I've never liked it, but I do love a glass of ice tea in the summer time.
Wow. Thanks. I'm going to have to try it. I have a hard time finding the right tea. I've been stuck on Chia lattes and teas lately. But they have to be sweetened. Thanks for the tip. :)Someone told me to try Jasmine tea. Had no idea it was green tea. A bonus. :)
I am a tea lover too! I grew up with my mother making a big pot of tea every day. She still does this every morning and afternoon. Nothing like iced tea to refresh you.
Green Tea is so yummy! I used to drink it all day long in High School thinking that would be the cure to weight loss... too bad I was drinking tea and eating burgers.
Have you ever been to a tea house? If not you need to go. The most unusual teas and of course pastries. Yummo.
Okay I am going to have to get me some because apparently green tea has antioxidents that help lower testosterone. Woo hoo! Let's hope it helps!!!
Yummy!! In the South they drink pancake syrup for tea, you know. It's pretty good, but it rates up there with Koolaid. I prefer less sweet and this tea sounds like the perfect ticket!
All around informative Tea reading. I will try you favorite new tea too!
Iced - not sweetened, for me.
