You're In The Throes of The "Terrible" Two's When...

...your toddler son is already lifting weights

...his hands and face are always in need of a good scrubbing

...he's a constant blur of activity around the house

...he is forever trying on everyone else's shoes (and slippers)

...he tries nearly everything on (his head)

...he gets in to everything

..."Pretendo" only occupies him for about a minute before he catches on that he's not really playing and complains, "Thaths no fay-oh"

...extra latches become necessary high on the front door to keep him from escaping outside all hours of the day and night (and so his mom can get sound sleep at night)

...he's already begun giving you 'looks' when you discipline him

...he only lets you rock him to sleep every once in a blue moon

...and just when you think you're going to go berzerk from all the extra work he makes for you...

...he comes in from the backyard after not seeing you for a few minutes, his face lights up at the sight of you, he runs across the room as fast as his little legs can carry him, arms flung wide, and as you bend and scoop him up into your arms he squeezes your neck and says in his tender affectionate little voice, "I wub you, mama!"

And your heart melts into a little puddle, and suddenly all the spots on the carpet and the handprints on the walls and the breakfast cereal spilled all over the kitchen don't matter quite so much as they did before.

Too cute. I have a four year old who seems to enjoy most of those same pursuits =) It is amazing how they can melt you with one hug or sweet comment. Isn't being a mother fabulous?

OK...now your little man has caused MY heart to melt into a puddle...PRECIOUS! (You know that little phrase that says God makes the kids who are going to be extra work....extra cute??)

Love this!

Awwwww... so true! And he is a CUTIE! I can't wait to have a little boy... or can I? I haven't decided! LOL!

Anyway, I'm about to go see what MY toddler is into. We currently have goldfish crackers all over the floor, pink highlighter on my bedroom walls, and grubby little faces to wash off!

I like the Cheerios box outfit. Imagine fitting into one!

I don't think any of my children were quite the handful that Judah is. But 4 kids in 5 1/2 years made it seem like you were ALL like him! It was a constant blur. But oh, so precious, all! And I know you wouldn't have your little guy any other way. Otherwise, he wouldn't be Judah!

Yep. My new parenting mantra I picked up a few days ago: The years are long and the days are short...

Before long, the kids grow up and you will miss those days. It's a catch 22.

Thanks for sharing those pictures. What a cutie.

Oh my gosh those pictures are a crack up. Your son is adorable. My son is 16 months and has already started lifting things like weight. Wonder what that means it will be like when he is 2. :)

Awww, I love it! He is so precious! I recognize that stuff! Mine is doing many of those things right now too. I love it when mine steamrolls into me and gives me a huge hug around the legs.
